At the heart of the Gaza Strip, where life constantly hangs between siege and destruction, Silence Is Surrender gives voice to those who refuse to be erased. Palestinian journalist Asem Al-Jerjawi shares his own experience as a displaced person during the ongoing genocide, interweaving it with the testimonies of women, men, and children who struggle daily to survive.

Divided into three sections,Silence Is Surrender, I Divide One Loaf into Four, and Those Who Remain, the book is a living document of resistance, written with the urgency of someone who can no longer wait for the world to listen. Asem takes us into overcrowded shelters, soaked tents, long lines for a piece of bread, and under the rubble of bombed homes. His words force us to see: the hunger, the loss, the absence – but also the stubborn will to live.

Silence Is Surrender is not just a chronicle. It is an act of remembrance, a human and political cry, a refusal to accept silence as complicity. It is proof that as long as someone keeps telling the story, Palestinians will not be defeated.
